    • PhD - Vanadium Dioxide-Based Films for Randomizing Photonic Emission and Absorption of Integrated Circuits

    • PhD - Ultrafast laser interaction for chemical and topological functionalization of surfaces

      Start: January 2024

      Application deadline: 30th September 2023

      Location: Split time between the Laboratoire Hubert Curien (Université Jean Monnet - UJM, St-Etienne), and the Laboratoire Georges Friedel (École des Mines de Saint-Étienne), with regular mobilities at the University of Ottawa's Photonics Research Centre.

      The goal of this work is to exploit ultrafast laser-matter interaction to generate new surface functionalization by not only creating topographical texturation but also by modifying and controlling the chemical state of the irradiated substrate, in particular oxidation processes and stoichiometry modifications in the case of alloys.
