Master Internship - Study and design of laser-modified optical structures for multispectral applications

Master Internship - Study and design of laser-modified optical structures for multispectral applications

Duration and location: 6-month internship at the Hubert Curien Laboratory in Saint-Étienne, in close collaboration with STMicroelectronics in Grenoble.

Start date: From February 2026.

Context: STMicroelectronics and the Hubert Curien Laboratory are offering an internship focused on the development and analysis of laser-modified optical structures. The Hubert Curien Laboratory is renowned for its innovative methods of modifying materials using lasers, enabling the creation of varied and complex spectral functions.
The underlying physics is based on light-matter interaction in a resonant medium, creating complex phenomena that are highly dependent on the properties of the laser used. The spectral properties obtained result from interference, scattering, and optical resonance effects, offering a wide range of optical behaviors.
