Ph.D. openings

    • PhD: Confidential Inference and Explainability: Toward Self-Diagnosis via Imaging

      Expected start date: 1st October 2025

      Duration: 36 months

      Location: Laboratoire Hubert Curien, Université Jean Monnet (UJM), St-Etienne, France

      Framework: The PhD position is established within the framework of a partnership between Laboratoire Hubert Curien (UJM) and CITI lab (INSA Lyon). It is a part of a series of theses designed to build a multidisciplinary scientific approach to the societal challenge of "Data and AI in a sustainable and responsible approach", within the framework of the Collège Ingéniérie Lyon-Saint-Etienne - Université Jean Monnet as described in this document (PDF file).

      Application process:

      • 27/05/2025 : Applications deadline (on rolling basis interviews with pre-selected candidates)
      • 28/05/2025 : Submission of a ranked list of candidates to the Collège Ingéniérie Lyon-Saint-Etienne - Université Jean Monnet.
      • 13/06/2025 : Final decision on the selected candidates by the Collège Ingéniérie Lyon-Saint-Etienne - Université Jean Monnet.

                     Following the selection process and without delay, a 3-year PhD contract will be established by the Ecole Doctorale. Sciences Ingéniérie Santé, ED 488.

      Expected profile: 

      Candidates holding a degree from an engineering school or a Master 2 from a university in applied mathematics or computer science, with training in cryptography and machine learning, and proficiency in a programming language and one or more reference development libraries in one of these fields.

Postdoc openings

    • Post-doc - Generative models and representation learning for synthetic aperture radar imaging

      Location: Laboratoire Hubert Curien, Université Jean Monnet, St-Etienne, France.

      Prerequisite: This offer is open to nationals from a European Union country only.

      The objective of this post-doc position will be to develop models of radar scenes in a self-supervised framework, and then to exploit these models for different tasks (such as restoration, semantic segmentation, change detection, or multi-modality fusion).

      This work will be done within the framework of the ANR ASTRAL project , involving teams from Telecom Paris , the University of Saint-Etienne, the Cnam  and  ONERA
