Research Areas
Lithography & Etching
We develop and stabilize new grating concepts and technologies leading to a wide expansion of the applicability domain of phase mask printing, both in period range and patterned area, novel photochemical...
Film Nanostructuring & Plasmonic Applications
The work here is centered around optics at the nanoscale. We manipulate surface plasmon dispersion in mesostructured thin films elaborated by sol-gel methods. We aim at elucidating and improving the laser-induced growth and reversible transformations of metal nanoparticles in silica and titania based matrices. We also model the way such nanostructured composite films interact with light to develop photonic applications.
HF-RF surfaces and devices
The aims of our team are to develop planar magnetic components for RF and HF applications.
Resonant Gratings: R&D+fab global offer
Monolithic association of a surface relief or index modulation with a surface wave giving rise to high contrast, high polarization, wavelength, angular selectivity diffraction effects on free space waves. We offer vertically integrated solutions for the control of laser emission from 193 to 10600 nm wavelength, novel transducing mechanisms for sensors and electromagnetic effects for white light processing.
Magneto-optical devices: the composite approach
We develop a composite approach to realize magneto-optical devices. It is based on a silica type matrix doped by magnetic nanoparticles. This material is fully compatible with integrated optics technologies and allows the realization of magneto-optical mode converters on glass.
Electromagnetic Theory
We develop reference methods for the electromagnetic modelling of 1D and 2D periodic structures (true-mode, Rayleigh), and offer computer tools based on the Generalized Source Method permitting the fast...
Silver Ion-exchanged Glasses
Commercial glasses are silver exchanged and locally treated with UV light to form controlled distributions of silver nanoparticles or nanoholes on the film surface, for sensor applications.
