"Nanostructured sol-gel TiO₂ layers fabricated by nanoimprint lithography for enhanced light absorption in photocatalysis"
Abstract
Developing efficient photocatalysts requires innovative strategies to boost light absorption in wide-bandgap semiconductors such as titanium dioxide TiO2. To address this challenge, we propose structuring large-area TiO2 thin films via nanoimprint lithography applied to functional sol-gel layers. This simple and cost-effective process enables precise periodic patterning, optimizing light-matter interactions under UV illumination. Overall, this approach offers a practical, resource-efficient pathway toward high-performance materials for environmental remediation and energy applications.
