"From Polymer Fiber to Stable Multimode FBG Interrogation: CYTOP, Polypropylene, and Step-Index Fibers"

Abstract

Ivan Chapalo, Post-Doctoral fellow in our lab as part of the MOPERE Team, will present his research activities, covering 3 main topics. The first concerns the characterization of CYTOP polymer fibers and FBGs, with particular emphasis on their response to gamma irradiation. The second focuses on Bragg-grating inscription in cladding-free multimode polypropylene fibers and on the sensing capabilities of these structures. The third addresses spectral stabilization of Bragg gratings in step-index multimode fibers, with emphasis on improved spectral reproducibility and measurement reliability.
